Fashion is turning frivolous of late. Yet we believe that Indians have it in them to bring back fashion with a punch. If we had to pick style icons from the present era politicos, we will not see much variation out there. The same kurta and the same simplicity fail to impress us. However, since Narendra Modi arrived with a bang, literally, we have managed to get our fashion icon from the political scene finally!
The bright color blocking
We mastered color blocking over last season but when Narendra Modi teamed a yellow kurta with a red jacket, we dared to unite two pop colors at once. The youth is gushing with his love for bright colors and yet mesmerized at how brilliantly he manages to work the same around.
The other reason Modi is turning into our fashion icon is because he does not patronize a costly sense of dressing. The simple jackets are done up in neat cuts and fit well. Perhaps these ate the thumb rules of fashion we forgot. Guys barely had much option except designer labels these days; at least our Prime Minister is bringing in fashionable changes with ease.
Creases Ironed Out
Modi has made a statement that kurtas never end being wrinkly. He brought back the trend of the kurta big time and today the young guys realize that the summers are easier to face with this attire. And yes choosing the right fabric also irons out your worry that you are creasing the kurta.
Modi has inspired us to make fashion friendly. He has brought our attention away from big brands while letting us focus on the fact that Indianwear made in our country can be a great deal indeed. Almost akin to Gandhi’s khadi intention yet much more wearable!
For a change we are back to accepting that men do look good with some beard and hair. While Amitabh Bachchan was in this league, the youth chose to don the waxed clean shaven look. Modi has popularized the beard again. Guys are taking cue while gals are going gaga over how handsome men look naturally.
Modi has finally brought in a fresh whip of air to our politics and fashion. While we were fed up with the Westernized clothes at malls, the much needed change is here.
We did vote for change but we got more than a new PM. We got a fashion guru who guns out costly western wear and teaches us that going Indian can be smart and crisp too!
