President Zardari hit the world headlines again;and once again it seems – for the wrong reasons.

‘CNN’ reporting under the headline “Pakistan’s President Tells Palin She’s ‘Gorgeous’, goes on to inform the readers :Palin rose to shake his hand, saying she was “honored” to meet him. Zardari then called her “gorgeous” and said: “Now I know why the whole of America is crazy about you…later he even offered :”If he’s insisting (as photographer requested them to keep shaking hands), I might hug,”.

Such going ons have the Pakistani public in an uproar at the ‘antics’ of a President of no less then an ‘Islamic Republic of Pakistan’;yet the more seasoned bloggers arn’t at all surprised!

Teeth Mastero a leading Pakistani blog covers the story starting with the following words: As suspected from my earlier post where I shuddered at the thought of what Asif Ali Zardari might serve up to Washington during his trip, well the games have begun……

And Temporal – who had posted a hilarious blog about how the conversations in Zardari and Manmohan’s meetings with her might go was overjoyed: “nice to know I have a future as a fortune teller. But one second thoughts, no!…..

As for myself I contented myself with posting the following comment: Shaheed Bibi! What Bibi? The 40 days ‘iddat’ is over isn’t it? So why all this hysteria over a small matter of ‘him’ calling ‘her’ gorgeous. And as for being Presidential; he didn’t hug her, did he? Though McCain has been kissing and hugging her on stage, every opportunity he got!…..And if you blokes expect any better from Zardari, you need your heads examined!

I am certain Palin’s meeting with Manmohan wouldn’t have been half as electrifying as Zardai’s. Zardari, as the President of India, would have done them proud, Manmohan is such a drab!

Please can we export Zardari and take Manmohan? They do seem so ill fitted to the temperaments of their own countries!
