Are the girls of ‘Girls Aloud’ tired of fame?

Are the girls of ‘Girls Aloud’ weary of stardom? The singing group that entered the Guinness Book of Records for the ‘most consecutive top entries in the UK by a female group’ eclipsing the Spice Girls top ten single hits with sixteen hits, can no longer take the strain of a fickle music industry.

The girls’ band of Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle, Kimberly Walsh and Sarah Harding are a tired lot. So why are the girls not happy despite of their string of successes? Cheryl for instance has not seen her husband for twenty days. She now wants to become a mother and have children. Nadine has recently moved her family to Los Angeles where she has an on-off relationship with Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe. She has just pulled out of the ITV reality show Passions. As for Nicola, she wants to do different things that are not related to the entertainment industry, like buy and decorate houses and sell them on or buy bars and sell them. Sarah is tired of the way she has been often linked with a number of pop stars. ‘I don’t like to be labeled,’ she says.

However, as for now, the girls are moving ahead with their programs. They will be touring UK in May 2008. They have just finished filming the remake of St Trinian’s in which they appear with Rupert Everett and Stephen Fry as the naughty school band, and their fourth album Tangled Up was released this week. However, what lies ahead of them is only left to time to tell.
