A chant for Positive Energy – 1

“NAM-MYOHO-RENGE-KYO”

It is the Mahayana Buddhist Chanting, started by Nichiren Daishonin in the 13th century in Japan. The above Japanese chant was brought to India by the Soka Gakkai a UN recognized NGO working for peace through culture and education.

This particular sect of Buddhist Chanting actually promotes the concept of tapping positive energy within one’s self and ultimately channelize it to help a person realize his desires. Despite of the fact that the chant is in Japanese, people of all ages and all walks of life are flocking to chanting groups on weekends…As the chanting is practiced mostly in a group, which goes a long way in aiding healing, thwarting negative energy and situations. People gather together to chant for themselves and others.

Meaning of the Chant:-

Nam–to dedicate oneself to the eternal truth of life.

Myoho:- Myo (mystic) unfathomable Ho (law) the mysterious law present in all the realities of life.

Renge:- Lotus flower signifying there is no lapse of time between our present causes and their future effects.

Kyo:- The sutra or the teachings of Buddha. Its literal meaning is sound,rhythm or vibration.

Put in a simpler form it means to dedicate oneself to the eternal truth of life present in all the realities of life in the form of mysterious law. Any deed of ours will get a befitting effect without any lapse of time.As a chant is a sound ,a vibration in a rhythmic form, it is entwined with the teachings of Buddha.
