Aarushi’s murder case: Lessons Learnt !

aarushi murder case 300 CzmMN 5453

Aarushi was found murdered in her bedroom under highly mysterious condition at her residence on May 16, 2008 morning, around 6.30 am, with her throat slit. Now it is almost two years yet we see no trace of the culprits behind bars. Claims and counter claims have messed up the whole investigation. And as if that wasn’t enough, investigation by the sleuths didn’t bear nay fruitful results either. This shows how the Indian judiciary lags behind the otherwise swift and fast investigations in other countries.

And the media needs to maintain restrain before jumping to conclusions. Immediately after the news of the murder had surfaced, it was equally disturbing to see the news channels flashing the news with words as ‘SEX’, ‘SEXUALLY’, for instance, just the grab the higher TRPS. One question baffles the core of my heart. Aren’t the TV channels getting selfish when they do not think twice before going to the character assassination of a school-going kid? Who or what on earth gives them the right to make the news more ‘eye-and-ear-catching’ just by adding these words to the news?

The government should come up with a regulatory body who in turn would monitor in instances such as this one. Or else, the day isn’t far when we would get see news flash such as “ Thief robs and sexually molests”, “ loot in the house and sexually” etc.
Is anyone listening or is it falling to deaf ears?
