Actor Carl Wright of ‘Barbershop’ dies of cancer

Tap dancer and comedian Actor Carl Wright, died of cancer at the age of 75, his family confirmed on Sunday. Wright was at his home in Chicago on Saturday, May 19 when he passed away.
Wright began his movie career quite late and appeared in Barbershop, Big Momma’s House, Soul Food and The Cookout.

He was born in Orlando and toured all over the world as a tap dancer in his youth. Once he also danced with a one legged partner as a team called Three-Leggers. He was a great comedian, emcee, songwriter and a fine actor.

His daughter Kia said:

He’s done so many things. He worked with everyone from Elvis Presley to Frank Sinatra.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, two daughters and a granddaughter.
