It is raining pornography! One may ask what’s the big deal about it? The pornography I am talking about is of old stars. First was Marilyn Monroe having oral sex. Now comes a sex tape of rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix having sex with, not one, but two women! The authenticity of the Monroe tapes is doubtful. The Hendrix tapes seem to be in the same category.
But the porn music company Vivid is pretty gung-ho about the tape and says it had hired detectives to ensure that it was geniune stuff they are going to sell. The company has two sources that back up its claims. One, Pamela Des Barres, author of the book I’m with the Band: Confessions of a Groupie, and Cynthia Albritton, better known as Cynthia Plaster Caster, famed for making plaster molds of celebrities’ genitals, including those of Hendrix. Others are not so easily convinced. Longtime Hendrix girlfriend, Kathy Etchingham says it is not her old boyfriend. The face was too broad and the nostrils too wide to be Hendrix, was her conclusion. Charles R Cross, author of the noted Hendrix biography Room Full of Mirrors is also one of the naysayers. He said he had encountered the tape while writing the book and he had rejected it even then.
The Hendrix family have chosen to remain non-commital, saying they are not sure.
Fake or geniune, the tape will sell like hot cakes amongst ladies who had a crush on the guitarist in the decades gone by and will relive their fantasies by seeing him making love to two brunettes in a semi-dark hotel room.
