On her recent British tour, Amy Winehouse created an awful scene while performing on the stage and was consequently booed by the audience.
Arriving half an hour late, she dedicated a song to her husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who is charged with grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to prevent course of justice.
Dressed in a tight black miniskirt and a transparent top, Winehouse modified the lyrics of her song while performing on Back To Black, and added the word ‘Blakey’ to it. Her sloppy act on stage ended with the song Valerie.
Even before she had reached the end of the song, Winehouse abruptly stopped singing and walked off the stage in tears, dropping the microphone.
Her fans were disappointed, and there was one who demanded his cash back, as he had spent £175 to purchase seven tickets. Critics were moderately sympathetic, while viewing her behavior with sarcasm, while The Times described the show as ‘sloppy’.
Amy’s spokesperson defended her by explaining that she had been going through an emotional upheaval, but still insisted on doing the gig. It must be mentioned that Winehouse went on stage after seeing Fielder-Civil, who is presently on remand.
The singer has received massive praise for her album Back to Black and shall play two nights in Glasgow. Her fans can only wish that the shows are worth watching and not anything near the ones they witnessed recently!
