The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has released the list of nominees for the 2010 BAFTA Awards and James Cameron’s Avatar is again on the forefront, though sharing the responsibility with An Education and The Hurt Locker. The three movies lead the march with eight nominations each. And going by the recent rumblings, it’s any body’s guess that Avatar will beat the other two to emerge as the actual ace.
After winning top honors at the Golden Globes, Avatar would definitely want to warm up once again at the BAFTAs before it finally hijacks the Oscar awards. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Royal Opera House in London on Feb. 21, two weeks before the Oscars on March 5. Head over to BAFTA website for the complete list of nominees.
