Courting, having fun and then finally parting away for some ‘other’ is quite common in Hollywood. Seldom do we have actors who dare to accept that how a particular relationship affected them personally or professionally.

And the latest to reveal his feelings is the Oscar winner Ben Affleck who regrets his relationship with singer-actress Jennifer Lopez as he said:

It was probably bad for my career. What happens is this sort of bleed-over from the tabloids across your movie work.

He further said:

The tabloids and Internet are everywhere. You can really subsume the public image of somebody. I ended up in an unfortunate crosshair position where I was in a relationship and (the media) mostly lied and inflated a bunch of salacious stuff for the sake of selling magazines. And I paid a certain price for that. Then, in concert with some movies that didn’t work…..

J Lo and Affleck’s relationship was so publicized that the couple was known as ‘Bennifer’ during 2002. The duo was all set to exchange vows and announced the engagement in November 2002 when Affleck presented her a six-carat pink diamond ring worth $1.2 million. Lopez too admitted that time as indeed Affleck was the one whom she dreams to have a family.

The two planned the wedding for September 14, 2003. But the week the ceremony was to take place Lopez called off her engagement with Affleck as media and Lopez’s own sister informed her of Affleck visiting the strip club in Vancouver with friends.

This led to their separation on January 20, 2004. Affleck blamed intense media attention as the cause of their break-up. Later Lopez moved on and wedded Marc Anthony in June 2004. On the other side Affleck married his Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner in May 2005, after dating her for nine months as Garner had become pregnant with him during this time.

Nowadays Affleck is set to release his first film titled “Gone Baby Gone” as a director in October. The film tells a girl’s kidnapping in Boston.

Affleck who has starred in many big budget films said on his first film as a director :

I feel like this film is a linchpin for my life. I have a lot riding on it. I want (the film) to work. Badly.
