Theres a good news for all the Hulkamanics. Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has agreed to be the host of NBC’s upcoming remake of ‘American Gladiators’.

According to sources, the deal is yet to be finalized but its almost certain that Hulk Hogan will host the show. Hogan has already met the officials at NBC’s Burbank offices last week and has accepted the job. Hogan was the best choice, feels NBC, because apart from being a successful professional wrestler, Hogan has also proved himself through his reality series ‘Hogan Knows Best’ which is quite a success at VH1.

Like its original counterpart, the all-new ‘American Gladiators’ will have everyday weekend warriors competing against the show’s cast of athletes. The remake also boasts of special effects, water skills and high-tech stunts. The viewers will also get to see each competitor as they train for their match as the show will even chronicle the backstory.

The producers are engaged in talks with professional and retired athletes from various disciplines, giving preference to ultimate fighting, to constitute the show’s brigade of athletes.

Meanwhile, there is no denying the fact that Hulk Hogan is the most successful name in the history of professional wrestling. Throughout his career with WWF ( now WWE), Hogan has always made his presence felt in a strong way. He is an American icon. Being a staunch follower of professional wrestling, I religiously believe in the Hulkamania.

His association with ‘American Gladiators’ will definitely work wonders for the channel as well as the show itself. As the icon himself says,

Gladiator-mania is gonna be running wild, brother.
