Celebrity and ‘reckless driving’ share a smooth, fatal camaraderie. When behind the wheel, they perhaps forget that they are in a real world, often resulting in accidents and deaths of innocent people. The latest to hit the news is the ‘entertainer’ Brandy Norwood.
Norwood has been sued by Marouane Hdidou, seeking damages, in a Los Angeles court last Wednesday. The lawsuit was filed accusing Norwood of negligent driving leading to the death of Aboudihaj, Marouane’s wife. A patrol report mentioned that the Land Rover used by Norwood sped at 65mph and hit the back of a Honda car driven by Aboudihaj. As a result of the crash, Honda went on to hit the centre divider before being hit by another car. Aboudiha died on the spot on the San Diego freeway.
The attorney office is indecisive about charging Norwood with the crime, however, if charged and convicted, she might face up to a year in jail, besides paying $1000 in fine.
The 28 year old actress-singer, among a list of nominations and awards, won Grammy Award for best R&B performance for The Boy is Mine. She will be remembered for her role of ‘Karla’ playing best friend to the lead character played by Jennifer Hewitt in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
