Candies on the Hummer

The candy-coated Hummer designed by the German artist Heidi Hess deserves more to be in a Food museum rather than at the display at the MOCA Tucson in Arizona. The reason behind it is the very fact that this rare piece of food art made of colorful gumballs, steel and wire mesh is a Herculean piece of culinary art.

What I see from here is Heidi’s desire to rise above from considering the candy-coated Hummer just as a tempting treat for the industrial drivers, to a symbol of concern that the fine Food Art stands for…a tribute to those soldiers who had distributed candies to children during war.
