Chili paneer for kitchen gourmets; most of us love milk products. Chili paneer with loads of taste and flavor. I bet you you’ll not satisfy with a single piece of it. You’ll relish this recipe in your dinner and this will serve as cider for die hard drinkers. Green scallions or spring onions sprinkled over this recipe add to its beauty and I love the crispness in paneer pieces.

If guest appear at your door without informing you what will be your reaction if this happens in the lunch or evening. You need not panic just prepare a dish which takes merely any time and is relished by most of kitchen geeks. You can enjoy tofu instead of cheese (paneer) for this recipe.
Preparation and cooking time is just 25 minutes and you can serve four of your guests.

Ingredients

500gms paneer, cut into small chunks (1 inch cubes)
1(150gms) medium-sized (scallion) onion, sliced thin
1 tbsp finely chopped ginger
3-4 finely chopped elephant garlic cloves
2-3 finely chopped medium sized green chilies (be careful when you chop them where gloves and see that they are not burning your eyes)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp corn starch mixed with 3 tbsp water
According to taste add salt
1/2 teaspoon of fresh and crushed black pepper
2 tbsp chopped green (spring) onion
2 tbsp cooking (use olive or refined) oil
Water, as needed

Preparation

1. In a deep frying pan or bowl fry paneer pieces till brown on all sides, and set aside to soak in a bowl of warm water.
2. In a non-stick pan, heat oil and saute chopped green chilies, ginger and garlic till fragrant. Add chopped onions and fry till golden brown.
3. Add paneer pieces, salt, pepper, and soy sauce and cook for a minute. Add a splash of water and allow it to boil.
4. Add corn starch mixture and stir till sauce thickens, adding more water if necessary. Cover cook for 2-3 minutes to allow paneer to soak in all the favors, and garnish with chopped green onions.

If you love tang in your recipes sprinkle some vinegar or lemon juice over when ready to be served else your recipe may become bitter. You can enjoy it as an appetizer or a cider. If you have time garnish this recipe with sauteed bell peppers.
Serve chili paneer in your lunch, dinner or along with some rice. It best combination is with tandoori chapattis and naans.
