After the scare of pet food contamination in U.S., the health officials in China seem to be worried of contamination in their own food. They have begun an inspection of wheat gluten on a national front to find out if it has been contaminated with chemicals or not.
The initiated inspections by the Chinese government definitely show that China is co operating with the U.S. officials in determining whether the contamination started in China. China has also banned the use of melamine from being used in any food products.
Chinese police officials have also detained the general manager of one of the two accused Chinese companies. The U.S. health officials are now a days on a visit to china to find out the truth. The inspection agencies are trying to track down the source of melamine and amino protein. However there is still no news of any kind of tests being done on corn or rice protein, which were also found to be contaminated with the same. However, the contamination taking place in China is an open secret in Chinese markets.
