According to a report, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has taken Dawood Ibrahim into custody alongwith his associate lieutenants Chhota Shakeel and Tiger Memon. This is being said that all three were rounded up from their previous place that was located somewhere near the Pak-Afghan border. They were taken to another place on the outskirts of Quetta for the safety purposes.
Earlier, the US administration mounted pressure on Pakistan to hand over Dawood and his men who are supposed to be close to Al-Qaida. The US was reportedly thinking to take some action against Dawood. Now, the ISI is said to have taken Dawwod into custody to save Musharraf from any kind of embarrassment in the eye of the US administration.
On the other hand, the Indian intelligence agencies have rejected the reports of the detention of Dawood with his henchmen by ISI in Karachi by saying that this report is looking baseless. This is highly questionable that Dawood and his associates have been taken into custody by the ISI.
However, the Indian agencies have made it confirm that Dawood is in Karachi for sure and not in Quetta. Some media reports have said that Dawood is taken to Quetta by the ISI.
At the same time, the Indian intelligence also confirmed that Dawood was actually injured in a gambling scuffle on Monday. He was shot in his left leg when a clash was reportedly broke out between him and other gamblers, Firoz Gitto, Firoz Dausa and Black Prince.
According to the agencies, the scuffle happened in the penthouse of infamous gambler Firrazudin Baweza’s Regent Crown Plaza Hotel in Karachi.
India has also provided evidences to Pakistan about Dawood’s presence in Karachi and demanded many times that he should be handed over to India. However, Pakistan has always rejected India’s claim about the presence of these people in its territory.
