It has been said that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have received threats to their lives from Al- Queda.
The duo is presently in India shooting a film ‘A Mighty Heart’. The film is based on Mariane Pearl’s account of the terrifying and unforgettable story of her husband, Daniel Pearl’s life and death, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was killed by Al-Queda militants in Pakistan in 2002. Pearl was kidnapped by a militant group calling itself The National Movement for the Restoration of Pakistani Sovereignty.
British security experts flown to Pune, India after being alerted by the authorities. And according to Intelligence Bureau sources in New Delhi, Indian officials have provided extensive security to the couple.
The couple is presently in Pune, where movie will be shot as opposed to Pakistan where the actual event took place. This could be due to the fear of the militants, but it can not be ignored that Al-Queda has been active in India also. Al-Queda has been responsible for terrorist activities in Srinagar. There are reports that al-Queda men had infiltrated into the Valley for the past few years, particularly after the 9/11 attacks.
Angelina has played a role of a widow of Pearl where as Brad Pitt made a guest appearance in the movie. Well, it could be only a publicity stunt to be in the limelight. The political nature of the film could be held responsible for the threats to the couple.
