Jellyfish tastes sweeter in Cookies

Jellyfish bloom in the Sea of Japan had seemingly attracted Obama Fisheries High School in Fukui prefecture, who are reported to have developed a method to turn jellyfish into powder to be used in cookies. The edible use of jellyfish, other than the processed or gelatin form, seems to be functional in the making of a cookie. Facts provide that these jellyfish cookies, named as Ekura-chan saku-saku cookies, are available at JR Fukui station at 580 yen for a box of 10.

Reports do not provide of other uses of the jellyfish powder, but if the cookies are marketed then the makers of the cookies in the Fukui-area can be sure that their bittersweet flavor will appeal the flavor-freaky Americans. Though it is for the first time that seafood is paired in a cookie, yet it can predicted to have trendier culinary application if the flavor can turn-on diners outside Japan.
