Delhi is the place of opportunities for the people of north Indian states since long. People come to Delhi in search of better livelihood and fulfill their dreams in the city. Chief Minister Sheila Dixit, herself came Delhi from the neighboring state Uttar Pradesh, has been forgot her roots it seems.
One can see her arrogance towards the people of Bihar and UP in her statement. She said:
Delhi is seen as a prosperous city. People from Bihar, UP and other places come here. What can we do? We can’t stop them. There is no law to stop them.
The leaders of opposition parties have criticized Sheila Dixit for making such remarks on the people of Bihar and UP living in Delhi. Delhi BJP chief Harshvardhan asked Dixit to apologise to the people of Bihar and UP.
Harshwardhan said that more than 40 lakh people from Bihar and UP are living in Delhi and they have become the important part of Delhi’s life. Sheila Dixit has showed her fascist attitude after getting defeat in municipal election.
Sheila Dixit has faced criticism from her own party as Congress MLA Mahabal Mishra has demanded that CM and her MP son Sandeep Dixit should resign on moral ground.
Later, Dixit said in her fresh statement that her previous statement had been distorted by media and politicized by the opposition parties and others. She said that she had no such intention of hurting the feelings of people who come from other states in Delhi. She further said that she herself is from Uttar Pradesh so how can she ask that others should be stopped from coming to Delhi.
According to the report, the people from Bihar and UP are playing important role in the politics of Delhi. They have become able to swing the political scenario in Delhi and people saw the example in recently concluded municipal election. Sheila had a taste of their rising power in Delhi in this election and she is under pressure from their own party members to take responsibility for the historical defeat.
