Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry recently revealed a shocking suicide attempt in 1997, after a breakup with ex-husband and baseball star David Justice.
However, with all the experience, Berry says that after her second divorce, she learned to take control of her own life and now, at the age of 40, she is seriously considering motherhood.
In an interview with Parade magazine, Berry said,
I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming when I had an image of my mother finding me. She sacrificed so much for her children, and to end my life would be an incredibly selfish thing to do. My sense of worth was so low. I had to reprogram myself to see the good in me. Because someone didn’t love me didn’t mean I was unlovable. I promised myself I would never be a coward again.
The actress was married to Justice for about five years in the early 1990s and was second time married to singer Eric Benet which ended in a highly publicized break off in 2005.
Her varied roles have included the beautiful secret agent Jinx in the James Bond movie ‘Die Another Day’ and the down-on-her-luck waitress in ‘Monster’s Ball,’ which won her the best actress Oscar.
Berry is these days dating male model Gabriel Aubry, who is 10 years younger to her.
