The affair, ongoing since last fall between 46-year-old Oscar-nominated actor Eddie Murphy, and 40-year-old movie producer Tracey Edmonds, culminated in a happy wedding on the first day of the new year. The pair got engaged last July.
They decided to keep the wedding low-key and very very special. The couple walked down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s ‘Makings of You’ on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia. Eddie was looking handsome in his cream suit and vest with an off-white handkerchief.
The bride, barefoot, wore a custom-designed form-fitting dress by stylist and designer Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci, designer and owner of Baracci boutique. Both glowed with happiness.
Only 25 people were invited to witness the intimate event, including friends and family from both sides. Despite being small, the wedding didn’t compromise on class. The gazebo on the beach, made out of 6,000 shells for the ceremony, courtesy event designer Colin Cowie, looked gorgeous. After the ceremony, guests rounded it off with a private dinner and after-party and shook legs to the tunes of DJ Darrin Ebron from Los Angeles.
The wedding cake by Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings in Napa, CA, was some sight to behold! It was a gorgeous four-layered set-up in whites and cream with handmade sugar cymbidium and dendrobium orchids. Wish I could find out how it tastes!
Just for the records, Tracey has two sons with Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, while Eddie is the father of five — four with his ex-wife Nicole, whom he divorced in 2006, and a daughter, Angel Iris, with ex-girlfriend Spice Girl Melanie Brown.
