It has been reported that 65-year old former Beatle’s member, renowned musician Sir Paul McCartney had an unpublicized coronary angioplasty last autumn. The secret heart surgery was conducted to open up arteries in the heart, which aids in greater and smooth flow of blood throughout the body.

On the night of 1st January 2008, his spokesman announced about the heart operation and said,

It was a routine medical operation.

British newspaper, The Sun quoted a source saying,

Paul had been complaining about not feeling well and saw a Harley Street specialist at The London Clinic…Tests were carried out and the decision was taken to operate. Paul had the angioplasty in a private hospital. It was all very routine but any work on your heart is a big deal.

The legendary singer is at present undergoing divorce proceedings with his ex-wife Heather Mills. He had made a successful comeback when he performed his solo hit ‘Dance Tonight’ on stage, with the stunning Australian popstar Kylie Minogue, at the Jools Holland’s BBC2 New Year special show. A close friend commented,

Luckily Paul is in very good shape. He does regular exercise and is fit…He eats well and does not carry any excess weight. He has always been in exceptional health, which is remarkable when you think of the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle he once had.

Fans all around the globe hope for his early recovery.
