After five years of dating, it seems that Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias have called it quits. According to the British tabloid, The Sun, Enrique, in an interview, confirmed that the pair has split.
He was quoted:
We’ve split. I’m single now and it’s OK. I don’t mind being single.
On the reason for their split, Enrique suggested that the couple had a disagreement over kids. He said:
I’m not ready for children. I don’t feel like taking on such a responsibility yet. But in the future I’d like two children.
The duo had been struck by the love-bug in 2002, when Anna starred in Enrique’s hit single ‘Escape.’ Although not confirmed, there were rumors of a marriage between the two.
The news of break-up surfaced in Stockholm on Friday, when Enrique was being interviewed. His father, despite being in the town, didn’t have any info regarding the split.
The news means that Anna, Russian tennis sensation (read model) and Enrique, Spanish singer, are single again and ready to mingle (hopefully.)
