Fertility treatments for Helena Bonham Carter

Reports have it that the 41 year old actress, Helena Bonham Carter is all set to concieve another baby along with husband 49 year old director Tim Burton. The couple are battling with some conventional and unconventional fertility treatment.

Bonham Carter feared her age because of which she may not be ovulating regularly and due to which she decided to take on a fertility drug called Clomid to stimulate egg production. In regards to the ongoing concern of fertility, the actress said,

I had a terrible reaction to it. It turned out I was ovulating anyway. It stressed me out beyond belief. Hormonally, I was all over the shop and I got really low emotionally. Lots of people don’t have that reaction, but on the internet I found a Clomid Club, with people who react to the stuff discussing it online.

In an attempt to conceive, the actress sought the assistance of acupuncture therapy named ‘Tui Na’, a treatment used for patients who prefer to avoid needles. She tried a North London based acupuncturist who supplied a variety of teas to build up her strength prior to the ‘Tui Na’ treatment.

After umpteen attempts to fertilize herself, on realization that oriental medicines was not helping her cope her fertility rate, Bonham sought the use of In vitro fertilization as her next option. Eventually results were seen instantly especially when the pressure ok making a musical movie caught the couple. While playing the role of Stephen Sondheim’s in hubby Burton’s musical Sweeney Todd alongside Jhonny Depp Bonham discovered that she was pregnant. In excitement of her pregnancy the actress said:

I was working so hard at the time,” she recalled. “The first three months being pregnant while filming, I felt totally spaced out. You do need to multi-task with acting. You’ve got to remember your marks, your lines, singing, everything, and actually – you have no brain! Suddenly your own brain is growing another person’s brain, so yours goes defunct. It wasn’t ideal, but then I was so happy to be pregnant.
