Fizzy Fruit launch promises fun and health

The “Fizzy Fruit” drink is finally launched after five years of research, by the Food Innovation Center in Portland. Fizzy fruit is formulated by a high degree of carbonization, where fresh fruit is kept in a pressurized chamber and then carbon dioxide is forced into it, but keeping the nutritional value of the fruit intact.

FIC started the project way back in 2000 and could get ahead only with a Small Business Innovation Research grant, with which it discovered ways to carbonate the fruits, optimize it and find out different carbonation conditions for different fruits. The taste trials in the OSU football season led FIC to give final touches to this product.

Today FIC is satisfied with the idea of creating its health drink which balances taste and health. Most of the parents and schools who did not allow children to drink fizzy drinks will supposedly stick to the drink for getting their children sip something healthy, irrespective of the amount of fizz. If this drink’s formulation is similar to soda then there canm be no doubts about its healthy benefits as lemon-soda is good for health.
