Kirstie Alley is in news again for the second successive week, albeit for wrong reason. After last week???s unexpected tumble on the floor of Dancing with the Stars, it was her footwear malfunction that marked the highlight of her performance last night! Alley???s shoe came off when her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy twirled her around during their waltz. Luckily for the celebrity dancer, her shoe did not go far and she slipped it back as Chmerkovskiy brilliantly covered it up with some improvisation.
However, their performance met with mixed response from the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba called her,
The queen of the unexpected mishap.
She also added,
I mean, whose shoe comes off? I saw you tuck it back; you didn’t miss a beat.
Len Goodman, on the other hand, was not highly pleased with all these moves. He considered her dance just OK.
Everything was okay, but everything needs to improve,
he said while identifying the areas where she could improve. The third judge, Bruno Tonioli said,
I thought you did amazingly well! You’re light in your feet and you got great musicality–in spite of what happened you did a fantastic performance! Proud.
The 60-year-old actress was visibly frustrated with herself for all these goof-ups. She seemed desperate to do something right. However, considering her background as a comic actress, we are left to wonder if at all she is trying to woo her audience with all these funny gestures. After all, her skill lies in making people laugh!
