The 27-year-old American actor, Lane Garrison has been issued a jail sentence of about 40 months, which is approximately 4 years for causing death to a teenager named — Vahagn Setian. This incident happened due to rash driving under the influence of alcohol.
After issuing jail sentence to him, the Judge said to lane that — he considered him to be normal guy who had done an extremely serious offence and shattered three families at a time.
This incident occurred in Dec 2006, the victim was a co-passenger in lane’s ‘Land Rover’ and suddenly he lost the balance and did not manage keep car under his control & it got crashed. Vahagn Setian was declared dead later on.
The Judge — notified Garrison that – he believe that lane is really feeling sorry, however he had announced a jail imprisonment so that the public should be familiar with all these things, and any misdeed similar to this have to be punished &, this sentence is done just to set an example for the whole society and also to make them aware of what punishment they will get after committing such type of crime.
The punishment was based on lane’s lack of past illegal records & he confessed guilty of committing the crime & has given a proposal to support the suffering families’ economically.
Just before the final verdict came, Garrison who was quite emotional and disclosed to the families of sufferer’s that he was actually apologetic & shocked by his act that took place that night.
Lane has to give nearly $300,000 to the victim’s families.
He was silent after the judgment passed on & was handed over to the local police who took him away from the site in chains.
Following to his punishment the actor was going through a compulsory three months psychiatric assessment at the California Institute for Men in Chino, based in Calif.
