Amitabh Bachchan is a veteran Bollywood actor, who has also appeared for his debut Hollywood film ‘’The Great Gatsby’’ recently in 2013, where he played a non-Indian Jewish character, Meyer Wolfsheim. He is a charismatic person with a booming personality and is proudly called ‘’The Big B’’ of Bollywood. He has over lakhs of fans from all over India and also over the world.
He is a great actor and has almost revolutionized the level of acting in Bollywood. His blockbuster hit films are Deewaar (1975), Zanjeer (1973), Agneepath (1990), Paa (2009), Sholay (1975), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977). Besides acting he has such a charismatic and unique personality that he has also appeared on television shows, most remarkably the quiz show aired by Sony Entertainment, ‘’Kaun Banega Crore Pati’’. Amitabh Bachchan is also renowned and acclaimed for his deep, baritone voice. He has played the role of a narrator, a playback singer and presenter for many television programmes. Famous film director Satyajit Ray, used Amitabh Bachcan as the narrator in his film ‘’Shatranj Ke Khilari’’. In 2005, he also lent his voice to the French documentary March of the Penguins which also received the Oscar.
He married actress Jaya Bhaduri in the year 1973. He stays with his family which includes his son and daughter-in-law. He has balanced his career and also his family equally. At the age of 71 he is still acclaimed as one of the finest actors of Bollywood.
He had opened his own producing company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd. (A.B.C.L.). But his business suffered serious losses during the time span 1996-99 and he was faced with many financial collapses. But he persevered and continued to move on and regained his prominence in the year 2000 which he is continuing till the present.
