Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora are officially divorced. The couple’s split was finalized on Wednesday in the Superior Court.
After a marriage of 11 years, 45-years-old Locklear, filed for divorce from Bon Jovi guitarist Sambora, 47, in February 2006 citing irreconcilable differences. The following month, he filed papers seeking joint custody of their 9-year-old daughter, Ava Elizabeth and requested to have the terms of a prenuptial agreement enforced.
A friend of Locklear was quoted saying,
This has been an unbelievably difficult year for Heather. It’s a huge relief for her that this part of her life has come to a close. She has been spending time with Ava, her family and friends, and just keeping it low-key.
Following the split, Locklear, has been linked to David Spade and is now rumored to be dating her former Melrose Place costar Jack Wagner. On the other hand, Sambora, is dating Denise Richards.
