Two-time Academy Award winning American actress Hillary Swank received an ultimate gift on Monday–a star on the Hollywood ‘Walk of Fame’ the latest landmark of her rags-to riches career.
The 32-year-old actress during the 2,325th star’s dedication ceremony said,
I remember my mom using a roll of quarters to call agents from a pay phone and telling agents they should sign me.
Swank walked off with her first Oscar in 2000 for her leading role as a gender-conflicted girl in ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ and five years later, she won another best actress Oscar for her role as a boxer in ‘Million Dollar Baby.’
Swank, plays a real-life Long Beach English teacher whose idealism spurs her to empower teens affected by racial strife in her forthcoming film ‘Freedom Writers’ a drama released this weekend in US theatres.
Swank has now become one of the world’s most in-demand stars.
