Elizabeth Taylor, the woman who gave the word ???glamor??? to Hollywood, has died. The movie legend died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday (March 23, 2011). The pronounced ???Dame???, by Queen Elizabeth in the Hollywood history, was 79.

She had been hospitalized six weeks before her death at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on February 11, 2011 owing to constant ill health, all through her first diagnosis of congestive heart failure in the year 2004. She had undergone three major hip replacement operations lined by brain tumor, skin Cancer, pneumonia and heart surgery.

Taylor’s publicist, Sally Morrison, said in a statement to People,

She was surrounded by her children ??? Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd and Maria Burton. In addition to her children, she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be and she peacefully died there.

Elizabeth Taylor was known for her stardom right from the childhood age. Her first movie debut, at the age of just 10, was with the movie ???Lassie Come Home.” She experienced her first fame at the age of 12 with the release of ???National Velvet???, in the year 1944. Taylor was nominated for five Oscars and was a two time Oscar winner. She was also the founder of ???The American Foundation for Aids Research???, where she was the first lady to speak out on behalf of the HIV affected people.

Elizabeth had an exceptional persona not only on the career front but also in her personal life. Everything was huge for this lady. And so was the dawn of her career with her ups and downs in life. She was dominated by the not so positive results from her eight marriages, health problems, prescription medication addiction and ballooning weight.

The death of this legendary woman is a huge loss not only for Hollywood but also for the entire world. She was a women of courage, respect and she has carved a place for herself in everyone’s heart. I salute this lady, for the numerous lives she lived in each phase of her living.

R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor.
