The department of Posts and Telegraphs is working hard to give tough time to the courier agencies at last. India Post is going to launch ‘One India, One Rate’ scheme with new kind of tariff.
Speed Post will be working in new relevant brand. So many other plans are going to be announced on Speed post’s 20th anniversary celebrations. It was started in August 1986 and the rates were restructured in 2001.
Now the private courier agencies are mushrooming everywhere in India and people usually send letters through it. India Post has lost a big market of core businesses such as handing letters and parcels to private courier agencies. Now for enabling the customers to India Post, government has introduced ‘One India One Rate’ scheme.
The department also hopes for the joint ventures of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) for making the quality of postal services in India.
