The high-profile post holders in government offices in North block and South block are busy showing the data on papers that Indian economy is going up with greater pace of development.

Many sectors are performing better and better since last 3-4 years. India has been placed among top five countries with highest Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) in world.

However, this is the one side of the story. The other side of the story reveals that nothing has changed in most of the part in the country.

People are being prosperous in selected parts in India and in metro cities. Rest of the country is facing the crisis in every field. The monsoon has been arrived in most part of the country and has been killed more than 100 people in different states.

One can find no infrastructure even in National Capital Region. In several parts of western India, the rivers have been taken dangerous forms.

People are feeling helpless. They have left themselves in the hand of their poor destiny. They know this is the story of every year.

The ‘Global Prosperity Index’ is saying the same story what I said here in previous paragraphs.

Indian economy is booming but India is right at bottom place at 46 among 50 countries in the 2007 Legatum Global Prosperity Index.

India has been failed to generate equal development and well-rounded national prosperity in the country.

The countries such as the US, Norway and Sweden are the most successful countries that have generated all rounded opulence. These countries have adopted different economic approaches and social models at fundamental level but have been succeeded to make their countries prosperous.

According to the index, the word ‘national prosperity’ has a wide meaning that covers several traditional financial measures too, such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It combines measures of material wealth with levels of life satisfaction.

India has failed to register better growth and satisfaction in health. According to the index, Health rates as the second strongest determinant of well-being across the world.

While, India ranks as one of the three countries with lowest health scores.

The cause for poor show is very much clear and we can blame the high costs of ill-performed bureaucracy, poor education system and derailed economy for the poor show of India at this front. There are some improvements in these areas now but we have to miles more to go.

The people of India are equally responsible for the uneven growth of country. They should come forward to take their share from the story of development. They have the rights to do that and no one can pull their legs behind if they would decide to develop themselves.

Opportunities are knocking the doors as never before and there is need to come forward and teach the ill-performing bureaucracy and corrupt politicians how to be responsible in performing their duties.

Indian economy is booming now this is the right time to be involved in the development story to make the country prosperous in real meaning.
