Jalgaon district, first in country, to receive ISO 9001-2000 certificate

Jalgaon district collectorate, which is celebrating its centenary year, has become the first district in India that would receive an ISO 9001-2000 certification.

District Collector Vijay Singhal said that the process of administrative reforms through single-window schemes and e-governance have immeasurably helped the administration to end red tapism.

Singhal said further that the administrative team has worked hard and introduced a vigorous and encouraging working environment that resulted in enhanced efficiency and transparency in functions in the district.

According to Singhal, the prime task in front of him was to change the rigid mindset of the government employees. He decided to establish a transparent and responsible administration and to introduce a speedy work culture in the district office by taking the employees into confidence.

Later, ISC Pvt Ltd Australia was appointed for assessment and accreditation of the collectorate and an internal audit and quality management meeting was organized to assess the functions in collectorate. The collectorate inducted various new equipments such as computers, Internal LAN, video conferencing, LMS (Letter Monitoring System) and FMS (File Monitoring System).
