Soul singer James Brown has been accused by a woman that he raped her and she is asking the Supreme Court to hear her sexual harassment petition,( which the lower court did not take it up ruling that said she had waited too long to file)
Jacque Hollander accused Brown for raping her at gunpoint in 1998 when she was working as his publicist. She argues that the state’s two-year laws of limitations in such cases do not provide equal protection to women.
Now Hollander seeks $106 million as compensation .She says that she filed a suit against brown after she developed a thyroid condition in 2000 that was caused by the stress of the alleged assault.
Brown’s attorney, Debra Opri, called Hollander’s request for the Supreme Court to hear the case “a pipe dream.’
But Hollander’s lawyer, Donald Rosen said, ‘The appeal is likely Hollander’s final legal option. Then her only recourse is in the court of public opinion. That would be a horrible miscarriage of justice.’
