Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is furious over the recent attack on his parents’ pub. The chef has offered a whopping £150,000 reward to help catch the robbers who raided the pub and stole £10,000. The chef is emotionally attached to the pub because it is the first place where learnt to cook.

Five men armed with baseball bats and hammers raided The Cricketers in Clavering, Essex, on Sunday night, threatened the staff and pushed an elderly member of staff on the floor. Oliver’s parents Trevor and Sally, who own the pub were not in the premises at the time of theft.

Oliver is on a business trip to America but his spokesman said that the reward would be extended to anybody who could produce information that would lead to an arrest.

Oliver also mentions of the pub on his website, where he describes The Cricketers as ‘lovely’. He says,

My dad runs a lovely pub-restaurant, The Cricketers, in Clavering, Essex, where I grew up. I remember being fascinated by what went on in the kitchen. It just seemed such a cool place, everyone working together to make this lovely stuff and having a laugh doing it.

Detectives investigating the case say that the raiders came in a dark saloon car.
