Jason Donovan, the record breaking Australian popstar and ‘Kylie Minogue’s ex-boyfriend’, has rubbished a report appearing in a British tabloid that he will be paid a fortune for bringing his relation with Kylie in the open.
Donovan, 39, was Kylie Minogue‘s co-star in Neighbours and was her performance partner for the music label PWL. His duet of the song Especially For You, with Minogue, was the fourth-highest selling single in the United Kingdom that year, and 17th in Australia for 1989.
It was during this period that Donovan developed a chemistry with Kylie and dated her for sometime.
And the British tabloid’s intention was to make a mountain of that mole by claiming that Donovan is getting £1 million for making his affair public. The tabloid quoted an unnamed publishing executive saying:
The chapters about Kylie are absolutely gripping and have every sexy detail about Kylie.
Donovan has accepted the book deal but refused to reveal the financial terms. He made himself clear as he spoke to the BBC Television,
Being paid a million pounds for my biography is a gross misrepresentation of the truth. It talked about a tell-all tale with Kylie Minogue … well, the book hasn’t even been written.
Donovan says his children, Jemma and Zac, were the force that helped him come out of the depression following a failed career that led to drug abuse.
His participation as a contestant on reality television show I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! last year also played a role in his resurrection. He finished third in that show.
The Too Many Broken Hearts star is currently planning a tour of the UK. But before that he has done the job of re-assuring Kylie that he won’t break her heart.
