Hollywood beauty Angelina Jolie has been elected a member of an exclusive Washington foreign policy think tank.

Jolie will join US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former secretary Henry Kissinger, and top economist Alan Greenspan in the ranks of the influential Council of Foreign Relations.

The Council on Foreign Relations, decided on Friday to accept the 32-year-old to be considered for a special five-year term designed to ‘nurture the next generation of foreign policy makers.’

The CFR demands no academic credentials but looks for people who take part in world affairs. And Jolie has visited 20 countries as a ‘goodwill ambassador’ for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since 2001.

According to UNHCR Jolie has appeared twice at the World Economic Forum’s meetings in Davos, highlighting ‘the role of the private sector can play in empowering refugees.’

Her membership was also supported by current council member Gordon Adams, an international affairs professor.

Adams said,

Bring her on. The idea of having Henry Kissinger and Angelina Jolie in the same organization is dazzling.

Meanwhile, the mommy of three kids has also been named the sexiest person in history.

Carol Adelman, a former head of US foreign aid programmes, added,

It’s not like Paris Hilton is being nominated.
