Offences against women ??? in any form ??? will never take place if a man always remembers that he was born to a woman. Right from rape to assaults, insults, and harassments, some victims suffer in silence while a few come out boldly to tell the world the agony they went through. One among them is the noted songwriter Kara DioGuardi. In her upcoming book A Helluva High Note, she shares the painful story of date rape. The singer briefed the media that she was date-raped by a famous music producer.
In the opening part of the book, A Helluva High Note, Kara DioGuardi tells us the ugly episode of child molestation, where Kara was a 11-year-old girl, who was subjected to repeated molestation by a family friend.
On one particular day, he took me into the back shed of his house and put his hands all over my breasts and vagina. I remember freezing and not knowing what to do.
Narrating about the date rape incident, she says:
Within a few hours, he was on top of me, pumping, sweating, and speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand.
Fearing that she would only ruin her career if she reveals this episode, DioGuardi remained in silence. In the end of the book, she also tells us how the contract had trapped her from getting pregnant.
