During his political campaign, he demanded a CBI probe into India-Bangladesh World Cup group match that was played on March 17. In this match, India had lost a crucial group match against Bangladesh and lost the hope to qualify in the super eight round.

Lalu has clearly told to media and people gathered in Lucknow that he has some specific information that bookies had at stake of Rs 6000 crore in the India-Bangladesh match. Lalu’s statement may add fuel to fire as the BCCI and Indian Cricket is going through a tough phase.

Lalu said further that the Indian cricket administration requires a complete overhaul and a high level probe should be ordered in the irregularities. He also blamed the members of team India for lacking team spirit and the flawed selection procedure as the main reason behind the world cup debacle.

He said:

Why only Greg, sack the entire team. Maharastra, West Bengal and Karnataka lobbies have dominated the BCCI. The system needs a serious look-in is need of the hour.

The regional protests over non-inclusion of their players did not promise well as far as growth of cricket in the country was concerned.

He further said on the non-registration of BCA in BCCI:

I think the BCCI fear that my entry would demolish their caucus and would be detrimental to their ulterior motives and designs.
