This is being said that the left parties are trying their best to get maximum possible support for their choice for the post. At the same time, the Left parties are not in hurry to disclose the names of their choice.

Earlier, they have been said that the political personalities should keep themselves away for the race.

According to them, the Vice-presidential candidate should not belong to a political party, but he or she should be politically aware person to conduct the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha effectively.

This is being said that the UNPA may also support candidate from left parties for the post of Vice-president. However, the UNPA reportedly made a statement that the Left should first withdraw support to the UPA before expecting UNPA’s support for their candidate.

AB Bardhan said on this demand that the left parties can’t break the alliance with the UPA just because of their statement. He said that this was the statement by Jayalalithaa not the UNPA as a whole.
