Former Hollywood actress Liz Hurley and Indian business tycoon Arun Nayar tied the nuptial knot yesterday in a private civil ceremony at Gloucestershire castle. A spokesman for Gloucestershire County Council confirmed the civil ceremony today.
Hurley’s close friend, Henry Dent-Brocklehurst, whose family owns the royal castle, the venue of the wedding, is hosting the high profile wedding bash. Hurley also owns a nearby country house at Barnsley where she has a small-scale organic farm.
The small town of nearby Winchcombe is high with the wedding fever, as celebrities are being seen traveling to Gloucestershire for the glamorous event. Although some are complaining that their services were not used, shops and restaurants in the small town have displayed good luck signs and blown up balloons to wish the newlyweds couple. But Rachel Jones, a hairdresser at the nearby Cats’ Whiskers salon said the town was ‘overwhelmed with excitement’. Miss Jones said,
I wish some of the guests had come in here for a hair cut. I think I could have done a really good hairdo for Liz.
Many teams of security guards are maintaining the huge guard surrounding the huge marquee in the Castle’s grounds. Sir Elton John, Hugh Grant and fashion designer Donatella Versace are a few among the high-profile guests expected to be a part of the ceremony.
