Matthew McConaughey has put a brake on the speculation engine that started recently when the handsome star was seen wearing a bandage over his left eye. The 38-year-old actor reassured fans that it was a minor cut and the wound is improving fast.
According to McConaughey, he injured his eye while training Ultimate Fighting Championship-style for his next movie titled The Grackle, wherein he is playing the role of a hired fighter. The actor gave a clear account of the incident in his MySpace post titled ‘My Eye’.
The post reads,
hey all, want to thank everyone for their support. i cut my eye ufc training for my upcoming j.k. livin comedy THE GRACKLE where i play a barfight for hire. it was a clean cut, clean stitched, already lookin good, just got another funny story to tell my kids one day…The grackle’s gonna have a lot of scars, but he gets sewn up by a vet, I’m glad I got to go to a real doctor. thanks again, in the mean time and all times, just keep livin, mcconaughey.
Well, that was a good bit of PR by McConaughey. After all, it always pays to keep your fans informed.
