I feel same has happened with the richest Britain’s music millionaire, Sir Paul McCartney who is getting divorce with his wife, Heather Mills McCartney. According to Sunday Times, McCartney will have to give a 100 million pound ($NZ273.44 million) allowance for a possible divorce deal due to this he has slipped down the list of Britain’s music millionaires.
Divorce battle is on between both of them. Initial reports were saying that divorce could cost McCartney up to one quarter of his total wealth that comes around 825 million pounds. In a statement the Sunday Times newspaper said,
After making a 100 million pound allowance for the possible cost of his divorce from Heather Mills, Sir Paul McCartney’s wealth falls this year to 725 million pounds.
Its annual rich list, which it calls the definitive guide to wealth in Britain and Ireland, is published on April 29.
In the list of rich music figures, Clive Calder who is the former record label boss comes at the top. This time the musical impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber comes in second place in 2006 moving up from third place, with a fortune estimated at 750 million pounds. Actually Andrew has taken McCartney position that was earlier at second richest pop icon. The maker of TV shows “Pop Idol” and “American Idol’, comes at forth position with with 450 million pounds. Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie are in sixth position with 275 million pounds.
This list is based on land, property, other assets such as art and shares in publicly quoted companies, of a person but it does not include bank accounts.
