Unlike Wendy and KFC, McDonalds is still indecisive about its switchover to new oil as reports point out that McDonalds neither has declared the date of switchover nor has come-up with an alternative Trans fat free oil. Investigations reveal that the Oak Brook, Ill.-based company has been testing alternate oils for the fast foods, but claims that it would not make public the properties of oil tested.

The food chain is apparently apprehensive of the effect of oil on texture and flavor of fast foods, especially French Fries on the image of its iconic foods and it is outright in protecting brand image from consumer biases, speculations and pre-conceived calculations and judgment.

Doubtless, that McDonalds in trying to save its brand image is trying to salvage its sinking sales, but in doing so it will be only diverting present consumers and attracting more criticism.

The whole point is McDonalds had been making claims to introduce Trans fat free oil since the past 4 years and the delay in the materialization of these claims have not only shrunken sales, but has also screwed-up McDonalds menu offerings with salads just to drive away more consumers from its brand offerings.
