Basketball legend Michael Jordan and his wife Juanita announced to end their 17 years of marriage and filed for divorce on Friday.
The couple issued a statement through their lawyers saying they decided to end their marriage amicably. A judgment for dissolution of their marriage was entered today.
Juanita Jordan, 47, previously filed for divorce in January 2002, but withdrew her petition a month later when the couple announced they were attempting a reunion. They were married in 1989.
The couple retains joint custody of their three children Jeffrey, 17, Marcus, 15, and Jasmine, 13. Juanita Jordan lives in Highland Park and Michael Jordan in Chicago.
Michael Jordan, 43, is a part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats basketball team and is a five-time NBA Most Valuable Player. He led the Bulls to six championships.
During her last divorce petition, Jordan said that attempts to reconcile their marriage had failed and future ones,
would be impractical and not in the best interests of the family.
After 17 years of marriage both of them realized that their marriage won’t work any more. Startling!
