Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson have finalized their divorce. They have resolved the splitting of their assets, according to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE.
This episode closes the chapter of their divorce. Now they are legally free to marry others in June. Details of the settlement were not revealed.
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey separated in June 2005, and filed for divorce in December 2005. They were married in 2002 and became world famous celebrities with the success MTV reality show ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’, in which they starred together.
After the divorce Simpson’s been busy with music and movie work. She has spent the past few months shooting her latest film, ‘Blonde Ambition.’
The former 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, reportedly phoned Jessica recently to tell her he wants to marry MTV’s TRL Vanessa Minnillo whom he’s been dating for eight months. The singer, who is allegedly hoping to get married as soon as possible, told Jessica,
I’m getting married again Jess and I wanted you to hear it from me.
Jessica was also linked to fellow pop star John Mayer but recently she rebuffed the statements claiming she is still single.
