It seems like the tabloids will go to just about any extent to make a few bucks even if it is on the back of a dead man???s reputation. Celeb gossip magazine PageSix has repeated claims that the video in which deceased actor Heath Ledger was allegedly shown to be taking drugs is infact real.

The video, claims the magazine, was shot at a Chateau Marmot party in January 2006 and shows the actor snorting cocaine. A PageSix report reads:

In the video, heath is shown talking while at a private party after sniffing a cocaine-like substance off a table with a rolled-up bill in his hand. As he speaks, his face noticeably twitches.

The video was subsequently purchased by Entertainment Tonight and the Insider for $200,000 and notices were issued to other channels against airing parts of the tape. Public pressure, however, resulted in Entertainment Tonight deciding against airing the video.

But a report from NY Daily News claims that it is infact somebody else snorting something on the tape and not Heath Ledger.

Seems like PageSix have a personal grudge against the departed Aussie actor as in addition to starting a dedicated defamation campaign against him with a two-year old video, they had also put his personal security and the safety of his then-infant daughter by revealing his the address of his New York residence a few years ago.
