Actress Denise Richards topped. Save the applause. She topped the list of the worst Bond girls! This mean, nasty (but we are not complaining) survey, courtesy Entertainment Weekly, saw Richards leaving behind A View To A Kill’s Tanya Roberts and Moonraker’s Corinne Clery to claim the not-so-coveted crown of the Worst Bond Girl.
Richards had sufficient scope in The World Is Not Enough to showcase her acting prowess. As Dr. Christmas Jones, an expert in nuclear weapons, she is assigned to decommission a number of nuclear weapons at an old test site in Kazakhstan. In the course of the movie, she narrowly escapes a series of bomb explosions with Bond and later helps him in investigating the bomb making way through Elektra’s pipeline. However, the criticism that had cropped up soon after the movie released was that she looked too young to be a nuclear weapons expert. But that couldn???t have been the sole reason for her position in the aforementioned list. It seems the stunning blond couldn???t live up to the general expectations.
Personally, I didn???t feel she was too bad in the movie. Yeah, maybe the others were better. Speaking of ???better???, Ursula Andress was named the publication’s favorite Bond girl, followed by Goldfinger’s Honor Blackman and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’s Diana Rigg. I quite agree. What about you?
