With sequels, remakes and now the coloring of cinematic content, it seems that Bollywood has lost all its original thoughts and really needs some fancy footwork to sustain the magic. An addition to the list comes with producer-director, Abhijeet Sengupta, who is all set to hit the silver screen with two beautiful debut damsels opposite superstar Salman Khan in ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’. The movie has a huge star cast of Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Ranjeet, Razzak Khan and Vrajesh Hirjee. ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’, a comedy being distributed by Eros, will be Salman’s next release after ‘Partner’.
Apart from producing and directing ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’, Abhijeet Sengupta has also written the script, screenplay and sound design for the flick. Abhijeet further added:
It was because of the blessings and support of Salimji, Salman and Arbaaz that I have completed this movie. I would like to believe I’m Eklavya for Salimji. It was because of my parents who worked with Helen and Salimji that I share a good rapport with the Khan family.
Reportedly, Salman would be seen in a guest appearance in the movie and is believed to have done an item number for Abhijeet. Apart from Salman’s item number, what further adds a refreshing taste to the movie is Abhijeet’s gender bender of roles of the classic Amitabh Bachchan-Shashi Kapoor comedy ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’. Surprisingly, the movie is being remade, but with female protagonists.
Amitabh’s character is being played by Shivi Malhota, and Vishaka Singh steps into Shashi’s shoes. The movie revolves around these two heroines playing orphaned sisters. ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’ is all set to hit the silver screen on August 31, 2007. We hope that this recycled product with its gender bender and Sallu’s moves turns out to be a hit!
